The National Testing Agency will soon announce the UGC NET Exam date for 2022. (NTA). The official announcement, that is, the ‘Information Bulletin,’ contains the dates of essential events associated to the exam, such as the publication of the application form, issue of the admission card, conduct of the exam, and revelation of the result.
The UGC NET 2021 test process for the amalgamated December 2020 and June 2021 cycles is now complete, with e-certificates being issued. Qualified candidates have received their UGC NET e-certificates for the year 2021. The UGC NET 2021 exam was held on November 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 29 and 30 and December 01, 03, 04 and 05, 2021.
UGC NET 2022
The NTA will soon make the UGC NET 2022 announcement. The UGC NET 2022 exam will most likely be held in June 2022, based on past years’ trends. Around the end of April or the beginning of May 2022, the NTA is expected to announce the UGC NET notification 2022. UGC NET application procedure for 2022 will begin after the official announcement is made. The UGC NET 2022 exam will be administered by the NTA to determine if students are eligible for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), or both. The NET Exam validity of the JRF Award Letter has been extended for another year beyond the three-year period.
The University Grants Commission has issued an official notice in this regard on March 30, 2022.

NTA UGC NET 2022 Exam Overview
The National Eligibility Test (NET) commonly referred to as UGC NET or NTA UGC NET Exam, started in the year 1989-90, is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for 81 different subjects.
First, let me start by introducing the organisations.
UGC (University Grants Commission) was established in 1956 as a statutory body by the Indian Government. Its objectives were to coordinate, determine and maintain the standards of higher education.
While, NTA (an Indian Government Agency) was established in November 2017 to conduct entrance examinations for institutes of higher education, nationwide.
The UGC NET exam was earlier conducted by the CBSE but from December 2018 onwards it is being conducted by the NTA. It is conducted typically twice a year (June & December Cycles) and more than 5 lakh students appear for the exam each cycle.
It’s purpose is basically to determine whether you are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor (AP) &/or receive the Junior Research Fellowship award (JRF).
Let’s talk a little more about the JRF now. It’s a letter sent to students who achieved more than or equal to the JRF cut-offs on their NET tests for their specific areas. While pursuing your M.Phil. or Ph.D., the JRF letter serves as a bearer document that allows you to apply for scholarships.
