As a software engineer/blogger I spend a lot of time on my keyboards. So your keyboard needs to be something I like for me to get the best performance from my day. This is why I made the following list of my most-loved keyboard options available.
I’ve divided the list according to the type of keyboard (standard rubber dome mechanical, mechanical, and special). In addition, I’ve tried to include in every feature that I personally enjoy over price.
Standard Rubber Dome Keyboards
The standard rubber dome keyboard is the most commonly used kind of keyboard available. If you dismantle them there would be an elongated rubber dome between the board and the key. The rubber material keeps the key from connecting to an electronic circuit on the board.

The rubber dome is the reason they got their name. It is cheap to manufacture in mass quantities. So, the keyboards are more affordable than mechanical DV6-6000 keyboard.
1) Logitech MK850 Performance Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo
Logitech makes good products. I’m sure you’re going to make a mistake selecting any of their keyboards of their line. They’re a reliable brand. This keyboard and mouse combo is one I use for my everyday driver.

Why?
I’ll admit that I yearn for an electronic keyboard. Unfortunately, I need to switch between my personal and work computers. I’ve always wanted an all-in-one 8460P keyboard that could perform this. This is the key feature of this keyboard. It can support up to three computers. connect via bluetooth, and it can switch between them effortlessly. It’s revolutionized my productivity (and my personal safety).
2) Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5050
Prior to that, the Logitech MK850 was my daily driver. It’s also a good combination of mouse and keyboard. It’s sturdy, and the mouse and keyboard are comfortable in your hands.
Mechanical Keyboards
Mechanical keyboards give you a better tactile user experience (like those of the typewriter). They achieve this through physical switches that you can hold down (Instead of the rubber dome that is used to complete the circuit).
A few people love this feeling that they’ll pay more for it. I too like them but there are some drawbacks to consider when purchasing mechanical keyboards.
They’ll cost more over their silicone dome equivalent
They’ll weigh more in comparison to their rubber dome equivalents.

As of the year 2019 the keyboards were way behind with wireless technology. The keyboards listed below are now catching up. However, you’ll have to find mechanical keyboards that change between three different devices, like that of the Logitech MK850 (listed above).
There’s also the question about which type of mechanical switch to choose.
The keyboard switch that you prefer will be a personal preference. If you’re new to the field I would highly suggest checking out this great video from Linus Tech Tip.

3) Keychron K2 Bluetooth Wireless Mechanical Keyboard
This keyboard was revolutionary in the time it was introduced in September of 2020. In the past, it was hard to find a mechanical keyboard with Bluetooth capabilities. Particularly, a compact model like this one that allows you to select your preferred type of switch at a low cost.
4) Keychron C2
The Keychron K2 initially debuted, the company has since come out with a variety of keyboard layouts. If you’re looking for the same low price but with a different layout of the keyboard look into the keychron C2 Keychron K3, Keychron K4, Keychron K6 Keychron K7, as well as Keychron K8.
5) Logitech G915
It is possible to find cheaper keyboards on the market (this one cost around $200 when it was released). This keyboard comes with a plethora of features. Wireless connectivity, customized keys and low profile keys, as well as the ability to adjust brightness, volume and more. It’s an excellent option.
6) Corsair K95 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
If you are a fan of electronic keyboards, then this is one of a kind. It was a regular driver of Linus from Linus Tech Tips and many others for a long time (and they are awestruck by it!). The drawback is that this keyboard isn’t wireless, and that is an issue for me.
Niche Keyboards
They fill a particular segment of the Keyboard market. That’s why they’re included in the listing.
7) Apple’s Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro
It’s not worth it unless you have the iPad Pro (if you don’t have the iPad Pro, you should definitely buy one). If you own the iPad Pro this keyboard is an absolute must-have. It’s a great keyboard and a great stand or case. It’s a masterpiece.
Apple magic keyboard 12.9 inch iPad pro
It’s ideal to use for FaceTime conversations with Mom & Dad as the iPad Pro has the best front-facing camera on the market and the keyboard is able to keep the iPad at an ideal angle.
Most people don’t want to spend $100 to $300 on a wireless keyboard. I have this keyboard and it’s a great tool for getting the job accomplished. This is how I started my blog way back when I was a kid!
